(Qualifying HP-A2 entrance exam score completed prior to 10/01/23 will be accepted)

Overview:

TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) testing will be available remotely or in person at MATC downtown campus.

Milwaukee Area Technical College utilizes the proctored, online ATI TEAS assessment test to place students into various Allied healthcare pathway programs. This is NOT used for Associate Degree Nursing (RN, LPN-RN Progression and PN).

Please refer to your advisor to determine if you have already met the testing requirement for your program.

What are the exam subjects (modules) ?

  • The maximum amount of time allotted for the ATI TEAS is 209 minutes (about 3.5 hours). Each section is timed: Reading - 55 minutes; Math - 57 minutes; Science - 60 minutes; English - 37 minutes. Students are encouraged to take a break between the Math and Science portions.

  • Reading (45 questions): Paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension and informational source comprehension.

  • Math (38 questions): Numbers and operations, algebraic applications, data interpretation and measurement.

  • Science (50 questions): Biology, Chemistry, Human anatomy & physiology; life Science, earth and physical science and scientific reasoning.

  • English and Language Usage (37 questions): Grammar and word meanings in context, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling.

What are the minimal qualifying score required for my program ?

Milwaukee Area Technical College requires a passing score or higher depend on your Healthcare pathway program.

We will also accept TEAS results from other institutions if the test has been completed within 5 years of your MATC Petition application date.

REMOTE test taking can be done from your home. Therefore, we will only list Milwaukee test sessions, however, these sessions are open to any of our students regardless of your location.

There are no refunds and no cancellations.

Programs that require TEAS and How is my exam score measured in the Petition Selection Process?

Each program has a Scoring Rubric that assigns points for the TEAS exam, in addition to GPA, Science Scores and number of times you have Petitioned. Rubrics are used to inform students and to guide programs on the Petition Qualification and Selection process.

How to prepare for ATI TEAS exam

You must view ATI Remote Proctoring for system requirements before registering and paying for the ATI TEAS.

  • Prior to taking the ATI TEAS, students are encouraged to use ATI resources and consider purchasing ATI TEAS preparation products. All products can be purchased individually or in packages.

  • We encourage you to prepare for the test before registering. There are no refunds and no cancellations.

  • You will need to check your program admission requirements to ensure the ATI TEAS is completed prior to any program petition deadlines.

Register and Pay for Remotely and On-Site Testing at MATC

Important information to students: ATI TEAS Refund and Rescheduling Policy

Once you purchase your TEAS exam, You are not able to reschedule or refund your money easy. You will go through process take a month to review your case and you have no choice to buy another exam. To avoid all this delay-Please, Do not purchase your exam until your are ready to take it.

When registering for ATI TEAS choose the Milwaukee Area Technical College Allied Health - Milwaukee ATC AH Milwaukee option. Registration must be completed at least 24 hours before the test date.

TEAS testing is offered in person and remotely all year around:

  • You will need to create a free account in order to register. To ensure your test results are received by Milwaukee Area Technology College, please include your seven-digit Milwaukee Area Technical College student ID number and your date of birth.

  • You will also need to pay the $87 fee for the ATI TEAS assessment using your debit or credit card on the ATI Testing website at least twenty-four hours prior to your test. For remotely exam, you need to pay $120 and Dates/times are different from MATC dates.

  • Be prepared to check into your test 10 minutes prior to your appointed time. ATI TEAS has partnered with Proctorio to monitor your remote assessment. You will need to complete some additional steps to be sure your computer is ready to deliver your test.

Instructions for students and Simple steps how to register for TEAS Exam:

1. Go to : www.atitesting.com

2. On the top right of the web page, click on Create Account

3. Complete each page/step by entering in your information. If it is marked with a red *, it is a required field and you must enter your information.

When you get to Step 4 (Institution Info), Please select the following:

4.Make sure to check the box indicating, “Yes, I Agree. I have read and understand the ATI User Terms and Conditions….” Click Register.

5. Your account is completed. PLEASE write down the Username and Password that you created and bring it with you to your scheduled TEAS session.

    • Click on TEAS Online proctored by ATI to register

    • Select ATI Remote Proctor Allied Health in PROGRAM TYPE

    • Select a Date when you can take the TEAS exam in DATE RANGE

    • Select your date with Time (CST) to register and pay for your exam ($120)

  • Administrator rights to install lockdown browser. Please Note: You will be downloading an alternative browser on your computer in order to take the TEAS at ATI exam remotely. You will not use Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc. for this exam. You will need to have admin rights in order to download this lockdown browser.

The Total score is the average score of your four individual modules. Only the Radiography Technologist (Radiology) program requires specific minimal scores for two of its exam modules Math 70% and Science 70% and well as a minimal Total Score 70%. Plan on 4 hours maximum to complete your exam.

What do I bring on the day of the On-site exam?

Exam location: Milwaukee Downtown Campus, 700 West Highland Ave (H Building), Room H126

Please REMEMBER your TEAS assigned username and password and bring a photo ID.


  • No Electronics :(phone, smart watches etc. must be removed/turned off during exam)

  • No Calculators: There is a built in exam electronic calculator.

  • No food or drink: This is only permitted as a documented, medically necessary item.

  • The testing center will provide pencils and scratch paper

  • Plan to arrive at the testing center at least 15 - 20 minutes prior to the exam start time. Students arriving after the exam start time will not be allowed to take the TEAS exam.

  • Plan on 4 hours maximum to complete your TEAS exam.

  • TEAS exams cannot be rescheduled or reimbursed. If you have an emergency, please contact the ATI TEAS Customer Services.

You are allotted three hours and half for the exam and you can leave when finished. Allow four and half hours if parking.

How many times can I take the exam?

You can retake the ATI TEAS. There isn't a limit to how many retests you can take, however, you will be charged the $87 fee for each retest. The suggested remediation period is 30 days.

If you have taken the ATI TEAS at Milwaukee Area Technical College, the scores are automatically in your MATC Self-Service Account. If you have taken the ATI TEAS at a location other than Milwaukee Area Technical College, you need to submit an official transcript from ATI to the Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Exam scores are kept in our system in the event that you need to petition again. The highest score is kept in our system and will be automatically accessed when you petition or need to repetition. Currently there is 5 years expiration date for your score.

Can I refund and reschedule my exam?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESCHEDULING A TEAS EXAM PROCTORED BY AN INSTITUTION
ATI TEAS are unable to reschedule or refund TEAS registrations without a documented emergency. Once an exam date has been purchased, it is final. Because of this, it is important to contact the school(s) to which you are applying before registering for the exam to understand important deadlines and to give yourself at least six (6) weeks to study prior to the exam.
If you registered for a TEAS session and have an emergency such as a death in the family, medical issue, or other urgent matter, an exception can be made once the Online Registration Department receives your documentation.
If you registered to take your exam via an Institution, e-mail comments@atitesting.com with the following details and proof-of-emergency documentation:
• Username on the account.
• Order Number (located on your purchase confirmation e-mail or in your ATI Account under Purchases and Payments), well as Date, Time, and the Location of the originally purchased exam.
• TWO alternate dates and times when you could take the exam that are offered by the institution where you originally purchased.
• If there is no date and time that will work, state that you are requesting a refund.
• A brief description of your emergency (Examples: Medical, death in the family, work or school conflict).
• Attach the proper documentation of your emergency to the e-mail. (MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION)

Do you offer Student Accommodation for the exam?

When using testing accommodations, the actual test date and time will be different from what you selected on the ATI TEAS website. This allows us to provide you the time and environment you need to successfully complete the exam.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not schedule and pay for your remote exam in advance. Accommodations need to be arranged prior to scheduling.

Special testing accommodations for students who have a documented disability are available through Student Accommodation Services.

To apply for accommodations, you must call or email Heather Lorbiecki at lorbiech@matc.edu (414-297-6962, 414-297-6750, or accommodationservices@matc.edu) at least 2 weeks before the exam date.

Follow below procedure:

■ Complete a Test Accommodation Request Form and submit Documentation of Disability (if it is not already on file) to Student Accommodation Services

■ Once the above information is submitted, MATC Student Accommodations will make arrangements for you to receive your approved accommodations on your exam date.

Remote Exam: TEAS at ATI Exams (at-home, proctored by ATI):

Accommodations may be available to individuals with documented disabilities pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). ATI provides reasonable testing accommodations to candidates whose documented disabilities or other qualifying medical conditions hinder their ability to take the examination under standard conditions. Please be aware that submission of a request for an accommodation does not guarantee testing accommodations. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis considering the information submitted and in accordance with the law.
Requests for accommodations will be processed as quickly as possible. Candidates should allow for a minimum of 30 days for processing, with the understanding that some cases may take longer. Candidates should include all the required documentation (see instructions below for what is required) with their initial request.

To be considered for accommodations, please submit your accommodations request to ATI Test Security at proctor@atitesting.com at least 30 days prior to testing/signing up for a test date.

Can I use my ATI TEAS exam score to petition for different MATC Allied Health programs?

If you took the ATI TEAS exam for a specific program and want to apply it toward a different Allied Health program, Please check first to see if the Total Cumulative Passing Score is the same or higher. If not, the discretion and decision to accept the other TEAS scores are made by the program coordinators.

Can I submit my ATI TEAS Exam from another college?

If you plan to send your official TEAS Transcript to Milwaukee Area Technical College, you will need to purchase TEAS Transcript Credits for $29.99
